We closed on our Lancaster Home in Candlelight Place in February and couldn't be happier. Lancaster was great to work with from the very beginning to build exactly the house that we were looking for. This was our first time building a house, and Lancaster walked us through each step with patience and valuable advice. In the end, we got a beautiful, well-built, and very energy efficient house with all of the custom features that we wanted. More importantly, we ended up in one of the best neighborhoods in Houston.

Candlelight place is very conveniently located, and downtown is 15 minutes away. The neighborhood is zoned to an excellent elementary school (Oak Forest), and because it is tucked away, it is safe for kids to play in the street and front yards. We also love our neighbors, who have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. We got exactly the neighborhood we were looking for without having to move far out into the suburbs. Long story short, we can't recommend Lancaster Homes and the Candlelight Place neighborhood enough.

Pros: Builder is very easy to work with, extremely trustworthy and stands by their word, maintains great and prompt communication, uses quality materials and good building practices, and offers excellent guidance as needed throughout the building process. Neighborhood is safe, convenient, welcoming, and zoned to a great elementary school.

Cons: None.

I recently built a home with Lancaster and closed on it in April. They were easy and fun to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process from start to finish. The house is beautiful, the neighborhood is peaceful and pretty, and the neighbors are a very social and diverse group. I truly felt like I was finally coming home.

Pros: The house was appropriately priced. Chris, Eddie, and Collette kept me constantly informed and helped me make decisions when I had no idea what to do. I don't think you can beat the kind of service they provide.

Cons: I can't think of a single downside to building with Lancaster.

We purchased our Lancaster Home at Candlelight Place two years ago, and we love it. First, the builder was great to work with. Second, we have a spacious, energy efficient home that has everything we want (including a back yard). Third, the neighborhood is filled with fun and friendly people. Fourth, we are zoned for Oak Forest Elementary school, which is a top rated school. Finally, we feel safe here. Unlike our previous neighborhood (the Heights) we are not worried about leaving our car parked outside and we feel comfortable taking walks in the evening. I work downtown and I didn't want to move out to the suburbs where I would have an hour long commute, but I didn't want to stay in the Heights because we had our cars broken into 3 times in under 1 year. So I was happy to find Candlelight Place. The neighborhood feels like a safe suburb but my commute to work is less than 25 minutes during rush hour!

Pros: Reasonable price, quality building craftsmanshihp, friendly neighborhood, short commute, good schools, close to a nice parke, large grocery store down the road.

Cons: None.
